James Moorman
James is an experienced lawyer in our Projects, Energy and Infrastructure (Corporate) team.
James regularly advises national and international clients on domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, energy and resources work and project development.
He has extensive experience in mining, upstream oil and gas, pipelines, LNG (including import, export and regasification projects), power, renewables, decarbonisation and infrastructure. His core practice covers mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, project development, infrastructure monetisation, construction and procurement, offtake agreements, and commodity sales and transportation.
James has previously undertaken a secondment with BHP in its Capital Projects Group.

- Mineral Resources Limited in respect to the sale of a 49% interest in the Onslow Iron Ore Haul Road to funds managed by Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners.
- Woodside in respect to the development of the Angel CCS Project and the Browse LNG Project.
- Mineral Resources Limited in respect to the sale of a 10% interest in the Wodgina Lithium Project and a 50% interest in the Kemerton Industrial Plant as well as associated tolling, transportation and logistics arrangements.
- Woodside in respect to the Sangomar oil project.
- AGL in respect to its proposed demerger including the establishment of certain operational infrastructure and services arrangements between the proposed demerged entities and a number of commodity supply agreements.
- Sumitomo Metal and Mining Corporation in respect to the acquisition of a 30% interest in the Winu copper-gold project.
- Mitsui E&P Australia in respect to various acquisitions and divestment in Australia and internationally.
- Australian Industrial Energy (a subsidiary of Tattarang) in respect to the development of the Port Kembla LNG Import Project.
- Mineral Resources Limited and Hancock Prospecting in respect to their joint venture arrangements in connection with their proposal to develop a new iron ore export facility at Port Hedland including the development of port and rail infrastructure and associated development and operational agreements.
- KOGAS Prelude in respect to the development of the Crux-Prelude tie-in and processing arrangements and associated FID.
- First Gen on the development of an LNG receiving terminal in the Philippines, including the chartering of an FSRU and tug vessels, terminal use arrangements, and the procurement of LNG supplies.

James graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Arts (Politics and International Relations) and a Juris Doctor. James was admitted to the Supreme Court of WA and the High Court of Australia in November 2017.
