Jefferi is an Associate in our international arbitration and public international law group.

Jefferi advises clients in high-stakes disputes and on complex public international law issues. Jefferi's practice covers investment treaty arbitration and business and human rights, as well as matters of general public international law, such as in relation to transboundary resources and State immunity.

Jefferi has worked on both contentious and advisory investment treaty arbitration matters and has previously been involved in the implementation of treaty protection-related advice through investment restructuring. Jefferi's work on business and human rights issues has covered sector-specific human rights due diligence responsibilities, as well as points of international human rights law.

Jefferi also routinely supports clients in commercial arbitration proceedings and on related matters. Jefferi has experience working on arbitrations under various institutional rules, including those of the LCIA, ICC, SIAC, JCAA, VIAC and WIPO.

  • a major Japanese pharmaceutical company in JCAA arbitration proceedings for claims of breach of representation and warranty under a share purchase agreement arising out of the sale of a pharmaceutical company

Background

Jefferi holds a law degree from St John's College, University of Cambridge, and an LLM (Public International Law) (Distinction) from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Jefferi is a Malaysian national and previously spent six months on secondment to our Tokyo office.
