Karen is a dispute resolution associate focusing on complex commercial litigation and insolvency matters.

Karen has extensive experience advising and representing clients in complex dispute resolution matters, with a particular focus on financial services litigation, international trade disputes, debt recovery and enforcement actions, as well as domestic and international arbitration under various institutional rules.

Her clients include global and regional financial institutions, multinational and PRC-based corporations, and high-net-worth individuals.

  • representing a leading PRC bank in defending an action involving a letter of credit governed by PRC law, with multiple interrelated court proceedings and an injunction order in mainland China
  • acting for a Swiss private bank in defending a mis-selling claim brought by an investment vehicle controlled by a high-net-worth individual based in mainland China
  • acting for a syndicate of lenders comprising 10 leading financial institutions in the complex restructuring and winding-up of EcoGreen International Group Limited (stock code: HK.2341), a Hong Kong listed group and its operating subsidiary
  • acting for a multinational renewable energy group in successfully defending winding-up proceedings in Hong Kong brought under a guarantee, and coordinating the defence in related UK winding-up proceedings
  • advising a leading local bank on debt recovery and security enforcement actions involving debts exceeding HKD 1.2 billion against a listed company and its subsidiary pursuant to loans agreements, personal guarantees, mortgages, and share charges
  • acting for a leading global manufacturer and service provider of power sources in an ICC arbitration against a Chinese state-owned entity arising out of Belt-and-Road power projects in Southeast Asia

Background

Karen graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Social Sciences and a Bachelor of Laws. She qualified as a solicitor in Hong Kong after training at a major UK‑based global law firm and joined HSF Kramer in 2026.
