Laurent is a partner in our Finance & Restructuring practice with a focus on complex banking, finance and capital markets transactions.
Laurent advises on the full spectrum of regulatory matters across the banking, finance, capital markets and (re)insurance sectors. Laurent also leads on restructuring mandates.
He advises banks, financial institutions, (re)insurance companies, listed and non‑listed corporates and securitisation vehicles on regulatory issues, including banking, finance, capital markets and (re)insurance regulation.
Laurent’s practice covers cross‑border banking and capital markets transactions—including the issuance of debt and equity securities such as high‑yield bonds and IPOs—alongside (de)listings, takeovers, exchange offers and buy‑backs. He also acts on structured finance, acquisition finance and restructuring matters, as well as (re)insurance transactions.
Laurent brings a rare combination of deep transactional banking expertise, sophisticated regulatory insight and hands‑on restructuring experience. This integrated skill set enables him to guide clients seamlessly through the full lifecycle of financial transactions—from structuring and execution to stress scenarios, regulatory challenges and turnaround situations.
His cross‑border experience across banking, capital markets, structured finance and (re)insurance means he understands the commercial drivers behind complex financing arrangements and the regulatory frameworks that govern them. This allows him to anticipate risk, design practical solutions and navigate regulatory expectations with clarity and confidence.
As Laurent acts for banks, financial institutions, insurers, corporates and securitisation platforms alike, he has a 360‑degree view of market practice and stakeholder priorities. He is able to decode competing interests, facilitate alignment and execute transactions efficiently, even in high‑pressure or distressed contexts.
Clients benefit from his ability to blend technical precision with strategic thinking—offering advice that is not only legally robust but also aligned with regulatory realities and commercial outcomes. Whether structuring a complex financing, navigating a capital markets transaction, or leading a restructuring, Laurent provides clear, pragmatic guidance that helps clients move forward with confidence.
His ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into solutions that are both commercially viable and operationally practical positions him as a trusted advisor for institutions navigating heightened scrutiny or accelerated timelines. He combines strategic foresight with technical depth, enabling clients to identify pressure points early, mitigate emerging risks and preserve deal momentum even in volatile market conditions. With a pragmatic, solutions‑focused approach, he helps organisations cut through complexity, streamline decision‑making and achieve outcomes that stand up to both regulatory expectations and commercial imperatives. By aligning deep market insight with forward‑looking regulatory awareness, he offers guidance that anticipates shifts in the landscape and supports clients in making informed, confident decisions.
