Megan Applegarth
Megan is a senior associate in the Brisbane Disputes team.
Megan has experience acting in complex commercial disputes in both Australia and the UK. She has worked on matters across a number of sectors including telecommunications, aviation, banking and energy and has been involved in a number of cross-border, civil fraud and trusts disputes.
Megan has represented clients in the Supreme Court of Queensland and Federal Court of Australia as well as the High Court and Court of Appeal in England. She has worked on regulatory investigations, commissions of inquiry and independent reviews.

• acting for the UK's largest telecommunications provider in a dispute regarding the scope of exclusion clauses in a telecommunications supply agreement, at first instance and on appeal
• acting for a major UK company in a High Court procurement challenge in respect of the Fourth UK National Lottery Licence
• acting for a Liechtenstein foundation in High Court proceedings challenging the validity of the transfer of property
• conducting an internal investigation for an international insurance broker in respect of allegations of misuse of confidential information
• assisting with a regulatory investigation into potential breaches of directors' duties and insolvent trading
• representing a multinational resource corporation in a claim regarding liability under a share purchase agreement
• assisting with an independent review into culture and accountability in the Queensland public sector (secondment)
• advising major banks in relation to regulatory obligations
Background
Megan holds a first class Master of Law from the University of Cambridge.
She also holds first class Bachelor degrees in Law (Honours) and Arts (English Literature) from the University of Queensland.
Megan is admitted in the Supreme Court of Queensland and is on the Federal Register of Practitioners.
