Michael is an associate in the Projects, Energy and Infrastructure team. 

Michael is an energy and infrastructure associate in the Projects, Energy and Infrastructure team in Singapore. He advises clients across the energy, infrastructure and natural resources sectors on project development, transactions, joint venture arrangements and other corporate and transactional matters.

Michael's experience spans traditional and renewable energy projects, including oil and gas, LNG, offshore wind, nuclear, and emerging technologies such as carbon capture and storage. He has worked on significant transactions and development projects in Europe, with a growing focus on Southeast Asia following his relocation to Singapore.

Michael previously completed a secondment to High Speed 2, the UK’s largest infrastructure project, where he advised on a range of matters including procurement and construction.

  • a confidential client in relation to its farm-in to two appraisal-stage carbon capture and storage licences
  • the concessionaire of a major UK airport on various matters including its contracting strategy in advance of concession expiry
  • HS1 Limited on various regulatory, operational and interface arrangements including long-term service arrangements
  • a confidential client on potential legal and financial liability associated with leakage or migration of CO2 from offshore carbon capture, utilisation and storage sites
  • a US-headquartered LNG company on the negotiation of a long-term (20-year) LNG sale and purchase agreement with a supermajor

Background

Michael trained and worked at Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer LLP in London before being seconded to the firm's Singapore office in 2025.
