Yida Xu
Yida is a corporate lawyer in the energy sector.
Yida advises on a wide range of M&As, projects and long-term contracts in the industries of energy (including oil and gas, power and renewables), mining and infrastructure. He has worked extensively on concession agreements, joint venture agreements, project development agreements, commodities trading agreements (including long-term LNG sale and purchase agreements) and services agreements. He also supports clients on corporate governance, risk management and international sanctions and export control.
Yida has worked for leading clients from Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer's London and Hong Kong offices. He is well regarded by and has wide connections with Chinese clients. His experience of China business is also highly valued by international clients doing businesses in the country.

- Antin Infrastructure Partners on its acquisition of BP's 36.22% stake in the Central Area Transmission System (CATS) network in the UK North Sea for £324 million
- Sichuan Development Holding Co., Ltd. on the acquisition of a controlling interest in Gardner Aerospace, one of Europe's largest suppliers of aerospace detailed parts and sub-assemblies
Background
Yida graduated with a bachelor's degree in law from Beijing Foreign Studies University and a master's degree in law from the University of Oxford.
He is qualified to practice law in Hong Kong and England and Wales, with a Certificate of Legal Professional Qualification in China. Yida is a native Mandarin speaker and is fluent in English, Japanese and French.
