Yolanda is an associate based in our dispute resolution practice in Hong Kong.
Yolanda has experience in civil litigation, and in particular has supported financial institutions in a number of mis-selling disputes, as well as a high-value claim brought by liquidators against an investment bank. She also has experience advising clients from both the public and private sectors (including the fintech, manufacturing and logistics sectors) on other commercial matters, including on interlocutory and injunction applications.

- Bank of China International Limited and BOCI Securities Limited for a leading Chinese private bank in relation to allegations of unauthorised trading and mis-selling
- Bank Julius Baer in its defence against mis-selling and misrepresentation allegations by its former private bank client in respect of over 140 highly complex structured investment products
- BNP Paribas in a litigation against allegations made by the billionaire heiress to the Hong Kong Vitasoy fortune for breach of contract and duties in failing to act on her instructions to sell certain shares in a listed company
- China CITIC Bank International Limited in defending allegations of breach of contractual, tortious and Quincecare duties with overall quantum of almost HK$150 million
- UBS AG in its defence of litigation brought in Hong Kong in respect of its role as co-sponsor of the China Metal Recycling (Holdings) Limited, by liquidators of the company for compensation in the sum of HK$5 billion
- a global logistics company against a group of its former distributors for defmation and restraining of public protest in Hong Kong
- a Hong Kong-based Chinese bank and members of an ad hoc committee in relation to the implications on distribution of funds and in the context of liquidation arising from a Court of Final Appeal's decision on Quistclose trust and the issuer's proposed debt restructuring
- an international law firm on defending injunction proceedings brought by its former client to restrain the firm from acting in certain arbitration proceedings on the grounds of conflict
- a leading Hong Kong family company engaging in manufacturing of expanded polystyrene products in relation to a shareholder and boardroom dispute, involving claims of breach of confidence and passing off
- a statutory body on potential claims from its insurer of a high-value construction project
Background
Yolanda obtained her Bachelor of Laws and completed the Postgraduate Certificate in Laws at the University of Hong Kong and is admitted to practise in Hong Kong. She speaks English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
