International leading law firm Herbert Smith Freehills has advised Marex, a diversified global financial services platform, providing essential liquidity, market access and infrastructure services to clients in the energy, commodities, and financial markets, on the completion of the acquisition from OTCex Group, a financial services company specialising in brokerage services in equity, derivative and interest-rate markets, of its voice brokerage activities.
A definitive agreement for the sale of the shares of HPC SA, OTCex LLC, OTCex Hong Kong, OTCex Asia and OTCex Israel from OTCex to Marex was executed on 11 July 2022. The completion of the transaction occurred on 1st February 2023 after regulatory approvals were granted by local Regulatory Authorities in four jurisdictions (France UK, USA and Hong Kong).
