Herbert Smith Freehills has advised the founder and shareholder of autoVimation GmbH on the sale of all shares in the company to Exaktera LLC, a portfolio company of Union Park Capital.

autoVimation, headquartered in Rheinstetten, Germany, is a leading manufacturer of high-performance housings and mounting solutions for industrial cameras, lighting and related components for image processing systems.

The Exaktera Group, based in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, specializes in essential lighting solutions for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). The acquisition of autoVimation is Exaktera's fifth add-on acquisition, following the takeover of Z-Laser, ProPhotonix, Advanced Illumination and iiM, with the aim of positioning itself as a global leader in the field of industrial image processing and photon technology.

Peter Neuhaus, founder and managing director of autoVimation, will continue to lead the company after the acquisition by Exaktera.
