Ana Julia García
Ana Julia is Of Counsel in the real estate practice in the Madrid office, where she advises domestic and international clients on top-tier corporate real estate transactions.
With close to twenty years of experience, she spent the greater part of her career at another international law firm in Madrid, where she worked as counsel within the Global Transactions - Real Estate team, leading the practice over the past year. Her practice encompasses the acquisition and sale of asset portfolios — including hotels, office buildings, shopping centres, and logistics warehouses — as well as NPLs and trophy assets, joint ventures, real estate financing, commercial lease agreements, sale & leaseback transactions, and construction contracts. Her client portfolio includes leading real estate companies, financial investors, REITs (SOCIMIs), investment banks and financial institutions, and other key players in the Spanish real estate market, including Azora and KKR.

- KKR on the incorporation of a JV company for the acquisition with Dunas Capital of the hotel business of Intertur Group, based on Mallorca and Ibiza (six hotels) management agreement with Alua (currently Hyatt) and related third party financing; and (ii) the subsequent divestment to the Fattal Group in 2022*
- Aedas Homes on a joint venture with King Street Capital Management to invest in residential developments in Spain*
- Azora on the incorporation of BRISA, a Spanish limited liability company to be incorporated in the form of a JV and participated by an international institutional investor committed to invest up to €500m, for build-to-rent investments in Spain and under Azora’s non-discretionary management*

Background
She holds a degree in Law and Business Administration (E3) from Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (ICADE) and is a member of the Women in Legal World association. She speaks Spanish and English. She has further broadened her expertise through international secondments at former international law firm’s London and Frankfurt offices. She is a member of the Madrid Bar Association (ICAM).
