Elisa Hayashi
Elisa advises Japanese and international clients on their cross-border investments.
Her practice focuses on cross-border M&As, joint ventures and general corporate and commercial matters for both Japanese and international clients. She has experience across a wide range of industries including TMT, manufacturing and industrials, consumer, agribusiness and renewable energy.
Elisa has extensive in-house experience through secondments to the legal departments of two major Japanese trading houses. She previously practised in London as well as an international Japanese law firm in Tokyo.

- Sumitomo Corporation on its acquisition of 20% shares of DABCO Limited, a UK wholly owned subsidiary of Vodafone Group Plc, a leading British telecommunications company
- Sumitomo Corporation on its strategic partnership with Enefit Green for the development of an offshore wind farm in the Gulf of Riga
- Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. on its corporate venture capital minority investment in Stanley Robotics, a French company developing autonomous vehicle solutions.
- Yahoo! Japan on its joint venture with Skyscanner Ltd for the provision of web-based (including mobile) travel information and travel search engine services in Japan
- Gulliver International Co Ltd, a Japanese automotive group, on its A$120 million acquisition of a majority shareholding in the DVG Automotive Group, Western Australia's second largest automotive dealership group
- Mitsui & Co., Ltd. in relation to the acquisition of a 25% interest in Hexagon Composites ASA, a Norwegian company listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange, engaged in the production of lightweight composite cylinders
Background
Elisa holds a Master of Arts from the University of Cambridge. She is admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales and is a Registered Foreign Lawyer (gaikokuho jimu bengoshi) in Japan.
Elisa was born and raised in the UK and is a native speaker of English and Japanese.
