Guillermo Ruiz Barrilero
Guillermo is a senior associate in the insurance practice at the Madrid office, with a special focus on transactional and regulatory advice.
He advises on all types of transactions in the insurance and reinsurance markets, both domestic and cross border (M&A transactions involving insurance and intermediation companies, bancassurance joint ventures, business unit transfer agreements, design of complex insurance distribution schemes, etc.) and on financial regulatory matters, including insurance and reinsurance, underwriting and distribution. He also has considerable experience in corporate matters and general M&A.

Background
He has a degree in law and a diploma on international business law programme by Universidad de Navarra. He has also a master's degree in corporate law (LLM) by Instituto de Empresa (IE) in Madrid. Guillermo holds a diploma in common law by the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). He speaks Spanish and English. He is a member of the Ilustre Colegio de la Abogacía de Vizcaya (ICAV).
