Silke specialises in energy law and climate change. She advises on clean energy transactions, energy infrastructure and climate-related matters across the UK, EU and internationally. Silke is the Global Head of ESG/Sustainability working with clients on sustainability strategies, emissions trading and climate governance.

Silke has worked in the energy sector for over two decades, supporting clients in the energy, infrastructure, and extractives sectors. Her work spans regulatory frameworks, project development, M&A, as well as contentious matters, including litigation before the European Court of Justice. She has advised on landmark interconnector and battery storage projects, as well as on ESG disclosure, carbon markets and climate risk management.

Silke has worked in the firm’s Paris and Frankfurt offices, as well as on secondment to major energy clients. Silke advises in English, French, German and Dutch.

  • advising National Grid on the sale of its electricity system operator to the UK Government
  • supporting lenders on NeuConnect, the first project-financed interconnector between England and Germany
  • advising on battery energy storage projects, including Statera Energy’s 300MW facility in Thurrock
  • representing Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne S.A  in proceedings before the EU General Court regarding ACER decisions
  • advising on regulatory frameworks for interconnectors and OFTOs
  • supporting FTSE 100 clients on climate strategy, sustainability reporting, and regulatory alignment
  • advising on ISSB, CSRD, and CS3D compliance across global subsidiaries
  • providing guidance to governments on Paris Agreement implementation and environmental law reform
  • advising on Scope 3 and Nature Position Statement for global mining and metals sector
  • working with Legal Response International on UNFCCC negotiations
