B Corporations (B Corp) have been around for almost twenty years now, and many household brands have achieved certified B Corp status in the UK and across the global. However, concerns have been voiced about multinationals receiving B Corp status in light of the vision behind the B Corp movement, and there have been reports in the press of B Corps having their status revoked and other companies choosing not to renew their B Corp certification.

In response in April this year B Lab, the entity which manages the assessment and certification of companies seeking B Corp status in the UK, launched new standards for companies seeking either to obtain or retain B Corp certification. The new standards are a significant evolution from the previous standards and seek to drive further positive change, and ensure the continued relevance of B Corp accreditation.
