Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer’s data practice is comprised of a global team of leading lawyers in the field of data protection and privacy. Our practice covers the full range of data protection, privacy and associated matters, including advising on data protection, privacy, subject access requests, employee monitoring and surveillance, data breaches, data retention and global data compliance and GDPR. Our data protection and privacy team also works very closely with our global cyber security practice, for example in relation to data breaches and cyber-attacks.

We benefit from a range of mandates (contentious and non-contentious) from clients across various sectors including public and private. This ensures we have a breadth and depth of knowledge that forms a strong basis to ensure we provide knowledgeable and pragmatic advice.

Our data protection and privacy practice comprises subject matter and sector market-leading lawyers from a broad range of areas, including TMT, employment, competition, intellectual property, procurement, public law and litigation. This means that we are able to give advice in a holistic manner and clients are confident we have the appropriate capabilities to advise on a given data protection or privacy matter.

Our team also has extensive DPIA experience of assessing privacy risks prior to the implementation of new and/or potentially intrusive data processing activities, and identifying measures to address these risks.
